Description
As a Direct Support Professional, you will be employed by our client to provide critical support and care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is pivotal in assisting these individuals with their daily activities and integration into the community.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide direct support and care, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of clients.
- Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Promote social inclusion and facilitate participation in community activities.
- Monitor progress and maintain detailed reports on interventions and outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in human services or a related field is beneficial.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or support setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy and patience.
- Flexibility in working hours, including availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of background checks and drug screening as required by regulatory standards.
